Ricardo’s Rising Star: Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams of Bowie Elite is quite possibly the most skillful student athlete in this age demographic that I have ever studied before. The young man not only has talent, he has clearly put in the time practicing his craft to develop that talent into skill. He is in the process of capitalizing on his potential far sooner than most, which is a testament to his work ethic and way of being.
On last Thursday night he walked into a game with defending champs, Maryland Heat, and walked out victorious. The Heat, which had not lost a game in league, in quite some time, did everything in their power to rattle Williams. Christian Taylor brought pressure up the middle. Littleton was relentless off the edge and Justin Gibson was one step away from Williams’ hip pocket, seemingly all night. To his credit though, Caleb proved to be unflappable in the face of distress. He overcame shotgun snaps that at times sailed over his head and at others skirted past him on the ground. He was able to overcome every obstacle he faced.
In a back and forth game, he never seemed to blink an eye. No matter the challenge, he was able to meet it. Trailing late in the 4th quarter, he drove his team the length of the field and on a crucial down, found his running back Jalil Farooq in the corner of the end zone for the go ahead and what turned out to be, game winning touchdown. It was one of many dimes Caleb Williams dropped over the course of the night.
The stock on Caleb Williams is high. Undoubtedly, every major high school in the area will be knocking on his door. I look forward to covering this young man for the next 5 years.

Caleb Williams is a name you should get used to. Last week, this phenomenal signal caller led his team to a victory over the vaunted Maryland Heat. Caleb will undoubtedly be one of the most coveted high school commits next year. Though I do not believe in the concept of a “can’t miss” prospect, Williams is about as close as it gets.
