#RicardoReview: Jarrett Powell
Jarrett Powell built in the mold of the new-age, “stretch Tight-End” and he’s redefining just what that definition can mean. At 6’2, 225-plus pounds, Powell combines the size of a prototypical high school Tight End, with the speed of a possession receiver.
When running routes, he displays a quick first step which allows him to get off the line without issue. He runs an effective seem route and catches the ball in traffic with his hands. An agile athlete, Powell is also able to pick up yards after the catch when receiving in the open field.
Jarrett Powell is also a willing blocker. He consistently locates his man at the second level, extends his arms and drives his legs through the whistle. He has the versatility to do so when lining up on the line of scrimmage or as an H-back in the backfield.
If looking for a player comparison, Powell shares much of the same skill set as Jordan Reed. If he maximizes his potential, he will be an outstanding addition to any D-1 program in the nation.
Good Size, Speed, First Step, Hands, Aggressive, Fearless, Quality character guy.
Tape does not display his ability to run variety of routes.
