James Patterson is physically gifted. Point blank. End of story. He’s a big, fast, strong, fluid athlete who can both, get to the ball in the run game and get after the opposing QB to shut down the pass.
He operates well in space which aides him in getting into his drop zones. His lateral movement is stellar, as he does well covering from sideline-to-sideline and he is a solid 1-v-1 tackler.
Patterson is so athletic and versatile that he can play multiple positions, all over the offensive and defensive side of the ball. As he begins to focus solely on his role as a LB, the sky will be the limit .
Moving forward, though presently committed to Buffalo, I forecast larger offers coming his direction.
Quick, Fluid athlete, Play Maker, Moves well in Space, Good Blitzer, Punishing Tackler.
Requires more film displaying ability to shed blocks. Slightly undersized .
