Ricardo Report’s FEATURED STUDENT ATH: Tyrese Chambers, by Tom Peace

Baltimore Polytechnic Institute senior wide receiver Tyrese Chambers is just blessed to be healthy and to be playing the game he loves.

During the his junior season, Chambers was sidelined with the majority of the year with a broken collarbone. He hasn’t seen a ton of college offers (only from Morgan State) due to his time missed last season.

Now he’s 100 percent-or in his words “Better than ever,” and ready to help guide Poly to a state championship.

And so far the playmaker is proving and showing just in the first two games that he is ready for a big season. Chambers has 10 receptions, Averaging 20+ yards per catch, Over 300 yards receiving, 4 TD’s and 2 conversions.

Peace: After two games how does it feel to have football season back?

Chambers: It feels great especially since I really didn’t get a chance to really show case my talent because of my injury my junior year but I’m back and better then ever and it feels great to play ball again.

Peace: What is the best thing about the way you play the wideout position?

Chambers: Playing WR you have to be a dawg you have to have that ball hawk mentality and not to many people have that I love to go get the ball and make plays after the ball get in my hands I run my routes hard and get in and out my breaks and I know how to use my strength and athletic ability to my advantage

Peace: How long have you been playing football?

Chambers: Ive been playing football for about 8 years

Peace: Who are some of the pro or college players that you look up to?

Chambers: 2 NFL players I look up to is Odell Beckham not because of the fame but because he isn’t human when he is on the field and that represents my game style and stephon diggs because his size and is confidence for the game and I am a very confident in my game and in college football James Washington he’s around my my size and he’s a straight dawg

Peace: What are you currently listening to on your ITunes?

Chambers: Kodak black – roll in peace

NBA youngboy – untouchable

Peace: What are the main goals for Poly this season?

Chambers: A state championship is definitely our main goal

Peace: You have several college offers, Morgan State is one, how does it feel to get those offers?

Chambers: I currently have one offer from Morgan I believe that I should have more but I am blessed to have that one and it is a blessing I believe I’ll have more before December

Peace: What are some of the things you like to improve on this season?

Chambers: Definitely my patience I am capable of so much but I have to be more patient in my game and let it come to me you’ll definitely see a more calmer me every game

Peace: If I’m a college coach why would I want Tyrese Chambers playing for my team?

Chambers: Coaches main goal is a national championship and you need national championship players I definitely am capable of doing that I have great character traits and I am a dawg I don’t know how to quit

Peace:What’s it like playing high school football in Baltimore City?

Chambers: It’s a blessing to play Baltimore football ain’t nothing like it you we have a lot of talent we compete every week the hype is real in Baltimore and we all love football we use it as motivation to keep our minds of off all the other stuff going on in our city Baltimore football is different we are ballers!
