Eric Crosby is an extraordinarily talented big fella with an extremely versatile skill set. He played an integral role in his Ocean Lakes teams' state championship run a couple of years ago and since then, he has been amongst the most highly touted recruits in the nation.
Chad Ricardo: Eric, I appreciate you sitting down with us today, brother. I’ll get you started on one I like to ask big time players such as yourself. As a child, when you weren’t dreaming about being a football player, what else did you envision yourself growing up to be?
Eric Crosby: Well I always liked being out side and I loved science and I wanted to be a astronaut. But I loved being outside I never wanted to be trapped in the house playin games.
Chad Ricardo: Astronaut? That’s whats up bruh! I can honestly say I didn’t see that one coming. Speaking of your personal versatility, you’re a dominant DT, but you’ve played some RB as well. In your heart of hearts, would you like to run the rock more?
Eric Crosby: I would love to run the rock more often! But I love the contact and I love hitting people.
Chad Ricardo: I’m sure the guys you play against wouldn’t mind you hitting them a little less. If you were doing a player comparison on yourself, who presently in college or in the NFL does your game most resemble?
Eric Crosby: Ndamukong Suh mixed with a little old school Refrigerator Perry.
Chad Ricardo: Suh, I could see, but you kinda shocked me going with the Frig. You were no where close to being born when he plunged into the end zone. I respect your knowledge of the game! I want to ask you about the attention you received while being recruited though. See, I played ball, but I was begging to walk on. I didn’t have coaches clamoring for my services. Obviously you chose the Vols– but what school showed you the 2nd best time on a recruiting trip?
Eric Crosy: Virginia Tech
Chad Ricardo: Short and simple. I can def respect that. Let’s turn the page to music. Who are you listening to right now? Who are your top 3 musical artists of all time and what are your 3 favorite songs of all time?
Eric Crosby: I’d have to say: 21 savage, Kodak, uzi
21- no heart
Uzi- money longer
Kodak- already
Chad Ricardo: I don’t actually know one song from any of those people…As if I needed another sign that I’m getting old. I don’t know if you’re dating anyone right now. Don’t want to get you in trouble. But, hypothetically speaking, if you could go on a date with ANY celebrity/famous athlete, who would it be and why?
Eric Crosby: Mrs. Teen Tennessee, Savannah Chrisley
Chad Ricardo: That’s right– you are still a Teen. That makes your answer totally ok! Let’s get back to the gridiron. Heading into your senior season. A new chapter is on the verge of unfolding. Thus far, in your personal life, who has been your greatest influence and what’s the most important thing they’ve taught you?
Eric Crosby: It would be my mom, she tought how to never quit things that you start. And always have a good attitude towards everything, and always be humble. She’s tought me how to be a out going person and never care what ppl think about you because if you have haters your doing someone right. When I got to high school I made her a promise that she won’t have to pay for college. I kept it and made it happen. I now need to grind and make a new promise that she will never have to work again, so now it’s time to go to Rocky Top and do my thing and make sure I keep my promise.
Chad Ricardo: You’re a good dude, Eric Crosby. I wish you health, happiness, success and nothing less. Thank you for your time.
