Ed Lee is a top talent on the field and stand up young man off of it. He is set to make a splash during his senior season.
Chad Ricardo: My dude, Ed Lee! It’s a pleasure to finally be communicating with you brother. We’ll get you started with an easy one, if you could be any Super Hero in the world, which would you be and why?
Ed Lee: Batman. Because he doesn’t really have superpowers, so he’s seen as an underdog but he uses the tools that he has to the best of his ability and it kind of reminds me of myself.
Chad Ricardo: I had a feeling you’d answer that way. Well played. What is the closest thing to a “Super Power” you have on the football field? As a wideout, what are your top traits/skills?
Ed Lee: I would say my route running ability. Being to set people up to think I’m going one way but go another. Another would be my hands; it’s rare that I drop a pass.
Chad Ricardo: Can’t ask for more than that! I want to know a little more about sports figures you may have studied. Who is your favorite sports team? Who’s your favorite athlete of all time?
Ed Lee: The Patriots. And my fav athlete would be Kobe, because of his mentality.
Chad Ricardo: I’m a Lakers fan. You’re winning points in my book! Did you know though that Batman is also Kob’s favorite super hero for similar reasons as the ones you stated. Look that up. In terms of football, who do you model your game after and why?
Ed Lee: I model my game after Antonio Brown because of his precise routes and great hands
Chad Ricardo: You look at himself and OBJ; those guys are redefining the WR position. A few years ago, teams were all clamoring for the 6’4 cats. These guys who focus on the art and craft of the position are opening doors for others such as yourself. What’s one thing or one habit about yourself that hardly NOBODY else knows?
Ed Lee: I get really really nervous before every game to the point where my stomach hurts but it goes away after the first series
Chad Ricardo: My man, Ed Lee is going “Willie Beamen”? Wait. Have you seen that movie? It may have come out before you were born. Showing my age again… moving on. Have you ever had anything embarrassing happen to you at school? When you just had to laugh at yourself for it afterwards? Or is Ed Lee just too smooth for that?
Ed Lee: Haven’t really had embarrassing moments YET. I’m sure they will come in the future though!
Chad Ricardo: Lucky you. I was a combination of chubby and clumsy as a child–embarrassing moments came a dime a dozen. On the other side of that though, if not embarrassing, what’s your most memorable moment in life thus far either on or off the field?
Ed Lee: The most memorable moment was getting accepted into St. John’s because I knew the next four years would be the best four years of my life.
Chad Ricardo: That’s real. This year could be truly special for you guys. I’ll get you outta here on this one. Who has had the greatest influence on your life? How have they helped you grow and develop into the young man you are and if they’re reading this right now, what do you have to say to them?
Ed Lee: My Parents, I’m blessed to have both in my life and they lead me in the right direction at all times, we’ve gone through some stuff and they’ve been there for me. If they read this I love you guys and I don’t know where I would be without you and I thank god everyday for you.
Chad Ricardo: You’re a great young man. I wish you health, happiness, success and nothing less. Thank you Ed Lee!
